The 11th International Conference on Low Frequency Noise and Vibration and its Control will be held in Maastricht, The Netherlands, from 30th August to 1st September 2004.

The date has been chosen to be a few days after Internoise 2004 in Prague, to enable delegates travelling from outside Europe to attend both conferences on the same trip.

The conference covers all topics in low frequency noise and vibration, its effects and control. The areas include:
* Source of infrasound, low frequency noise and vibration, detection measurement and analysis
* Propagation of infrasound and low frequency noise in the atmosphere and in buildings

* Perception of low frequency noise and vibration by man and animals.

About Maastricht
Maastricht city home page and tourist information
Maastricht is an ancient City, established by the Romans over 2000 years ago and has been the setting for sieges and battles. It retains some of its medieval buildings and city walls and is a beautiful town to visit. Delegates to the 10th Conference held in York in September 2002 (link) will be able to compare both towns.

Travel to Maastricht
Maastricht airport connects to international destinations via Amsterdam, although there are direct flights to some European destinations. See airport web pages
Many airlines fly to Amsterdam or Brussels from which there are train connections to Maastricht, about one an hour from each airport with a journey time of 2-21/2 hours. It may be necessary to change trains during the journey.
It is also possible to fly to Dusseldorf or Ko"ln (Cologne) and travel by train to Maastricht, via Lie`ge.
There is an airport shuttle bus service from Brussels to Maastricht which collects a number of passengers for each journey. You must reserve your place on the shuttle bus

Social Programme and Accompanying Persons
The social programme for both registered delegates and registered accompanying persons includes:
Sunday 29th August
In the Evening, a welcome buffet
Tuesday 31st August
In the afternoon, an excursion on to De Keyzer brewery incuding beer tasting. (duration:2.5 hours)
In the evening there is a moonlight cruise on the River Maas, including the conference banquet. (duration 4 hours)
For accompanying persons the following additional events are included:
Monday 30th August
Morning: City tour with a tour to the caves of Sint Pieter. (duration 2.5-3 hours). It is possible to walk around the city too.
Afternoon: free
Tuesday 31st August
Morning: Visit the treasures of St Servatius Basilica and/or OLV Basilica and/or visit to the Museum of Art Bonnefanten
Afternoon: free
